© Holly AndresFrom November 19 to 22nd, for the 13th year, the exhibition « Paris Photo » will be held at the Carrousel du Louvre, in Paris. The 2009 edition opens on geographic diversity and discovery with an unprecedented exploration of the Arab and Iranian scene.

The photography of this region is not well known whereas there is a real fascination for the image in Arab countries and Iran. The photography is indeed the medium most used by contemporary artists who tend toward international recognition. Divided into three parts the exhibition features rare photos, an overview of the creativity of this emerging region and videos showing the artists' interest in photography.
A number of galleries in the West will also use this opportunity to present Arab and Iranian artists as well as orientalist pieces of the 19th.
Besides the exhibition of Arab and Iranian scene, the galleries of the general sector offer a panorama of photographic expression from the 19th century to today. © Van LeoAltogether, 101 exhibitors comprised of 88 galleries and 13 publishers will attend. With 23 countries represented, the geographical diversity is real as well as discovery with the presence of 30 new exhibitors.
