Face to Face

Stefano Zardini started his photography studies in Milan at the Technical Institute of Photography, then moved to London where he specialized in portraits and reportages working for several professional Studios. In the early 1970s he started his career as free-lance photographer working for fashion magazines... 

For Lorenzo Salemi, the passion for photography was born when he was young. He watched as his father, a writer and a journalist, worked on his own photographic albums that were basically scrapbooks on life: mixtures of family images, events, and voyages. Young Lorenzo became very interested in creativity.

Born in 1954 Ton van Zeijl grew up in a small town called Kwintsheul in the west of Holland. On his 17th birthday he left school to find a job, but 7 years later he found out that this chosen path wasn't his future. While working as deputy manager at the Minister of Defense print shop he began taking courses at the Academy of Photography in The Hague.

In the city of Ruffec (France) where he was born in 1962, Pierre Delaunay has been a professional photographer for 25 years. Like Obelix, he was affected by the magic potion « révélateur »  (revelation) because his parents were also photographers.

Observing curves and lines of the built spaces which he photographs, Jerónimo Heitor Coelho offers us a particular point of vue on the photography of architecture. "Visit the shapes", this week on Face to Face.

Marco Onofri has lived in Cesena, Italy since his birth in 1973.  When he was 24, an innate passion took hold of him and he began to teach himself photography.
After nine years of planning, in 2002 he opened his first photography studio where he focused mainly on still life, and portraits.  In his spare time Marco took up reportage.

Independent photographer, David Sepeau was born in Bordeaux, France in 1980. A member of the UPC (The Creative Photographers Union), he is the author of many social reportage in France and abroad.

Born in 1967, Jiri Jiroutek achieved his higher education at the institute of creative photography of Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic. Since becoming a professional he specializes in portraits in photography for advertising, architecture and culinary design.

New Zealand photographer, Michael Hall is a recognized photographer in Asia as well as in Europe where he is member of the FEP. Concerned by environmental problems, he dedicates his personal projects to the impact of man on landscapes.

Johan Buelens lives in Brussels where he creates his photographic work. He has studied biology, philosophy and photography. It is indeed the mixture of these different experiences that guides the sense of his creativity.

Toon Grobet was born into a family rich in photographic heritage.
During his first years as a photography student at the polytechnic school in Antwerp, Toon developed a set style. He  found that the latent knowledge of modernism from his childhood had a vast influence on his conception of photography.
